
Rules:
- Added(September 24, 1999) - No person may submit more than 2 entries. Make them count!
- No logo may have a width largers than 600 pixels or a height larger than 216 pixels.
- No logo may be larger than 30k (As this is the only graphic on the site, this should be acceptable)
- The logo must be in JPG format. PNG is still much a minority and GIF is subject to trademark/patent problems.
- The logo must also be supplied in the native format, i.e.; psd (photoshop) or "The Gimp's" native format.
- Animated Gifs, will not be accepted.
- If you incorporate TUX you must include copies of the authors permission to you in your submission (headers and all).
- The Contest will run from September 15, 1999 until November 15, 1999. The prize will be shipped within 10 days of the selection of the winner. Just in time for Christmas!.
Judging:
- The judges will consist of the "Core Team". This will ease the process and make the decision quick. There are currently 5 members of the core team which will prevent a 2x2 scenario.
- Once the contest is closed the Core Team will take no longer than 7 working days (that is everyday for us geeks) to make a decision.
- The logo's will be judged on taste, representability of the LDP, and overall coolness.
Comments:
- Any member of ldp-discuss@lists.linuxdoc.org is welcome to present arguements for or against a particular logo to the mailing list for consideration.
Prizes!
- We have arranged for the company 3D Technology, Inc. to provide for a 17" Viewsonic monitor and a Creative Labs 32Meg Riva TNT card for the winner of the contest.
Credits and Copyrights
- We will give credit to the creator of the logo (via a about the logo link and page)but all submitters will release copyright to the Linux Documentation Project.
Submitting:
- To submit a logo email poet@linuxports.com with the words "LDP Logo" in the subject with the submission. The logo will then be posted on the Linux Documentation Project home page for review.
